1. Choose your party theme

This is a problem because you can’t really plan anything until you’ve chosen the theme of your party. But there are so many themes to choose from that you can feel a little spoiled to choose from!

Most parts are divided into one of the following four categories, so we recommend exploring the themes of the party by category to help you reduce your choice. Choose between:

  • Children’s birthday
  • Birthdays of important adults and ages
  • Special occasions
  • Seasonal events

2. Define your budget

Next, decide how much you want to spend. This is really important because the cost can really increase when you drive the purchase. The best way to avoid excessive spending is to set a budget and respect it.

How much should you spend at a party? It’s up to you, but once the budget is set, you can start planning effectively!

3. Set a date, choose your venue and prepare the guest list

These are the essential details that are best solved from the beginning. Organizing your party at home and limiting the guest list to a reasonable number is one of the best ways to organize a party on a tight budget, but if you can afford to be a little more extravagant, why not take a seat?

Just make sure to let people know when it will be a couple of weeks in advance so they can save the date (which takes us to the next point …)

4. Send your invites

It makes no sense to plan a party if you don’t let people know enough to save the date. We advise you to send your invitations about three weeks before the party to prevent people from making contradictory plans. Personalized invitations can be a nice touch if you are celebrating a very special occasion like an engagement or a baby shower.

5. Stock up on party supplies and decorations

This is where the real fun begins! Decide if you want to make it simple or complete (why shouldn’t you?) And choose decorations that match the theme of your party.

Paper decorations like fans, pompoms and honeycomb decorations may seem super elegant and creative genius is not necessary to make them look beautiful! Stick to some main colors to make sure your party decorations look perfectly coordinated with the color.

6. Order a birthday cake

If you’re planning a birthday party, you shouldn’t forget it! Ask it a couple of weeks in advance to make sure it’s ready in time and if you’re preparing yours, it’s a good idea to test new recipes to avoid any kitchen disaster!

If you are not Mary Berry, you can always buy a prefabricated supermarket cake and cheer it up with a nice cake like the cake below.

7. Plan your party food

Whether you have a limited budget or not, plan ahead which party food you will need to make sure you have enough food for everyone. If you share the role of a food supplier, planning things in advance will help you organize who brings what.

8. Buy a birthday present

It’s obvious, but don’t forget to buy a birthday present! And when you do, complete with a pretty wrapping and an elegant gift box like these from our beautiful range of neon party items.

9. Purchase your party food and pick up the cake

Three days before the party is enough time to make sure you have everything you need (and make further trips to the supermarket if necessary) and make sure everything is fresh for the day of the party.

10. Decorate the venue and get the party started!

Thanks to its incredible organizational skills (and our practical party checklist), everything must be ordered based on the day of the party! All that remains is to decorate the place, get ready and have fun!
